Getting the boat ready

Hello, friends πŸ€—

It's been a long time since we have given you any news. We have been busy sanding, polishing, trying to paint the hull in 50 knots of wind, repairing the swimming platform, installing parts of the water maker, servicing the main and the outboard engine, treating the teak deck, store all our gear away (and taking it out and away again a hundred times), hiding from 55 knots south-easterlies and, you know, just settling in.

πŸͺœ

The first three weeks here in Leros Marina, we lived on the dry dock. The boat has now been in the water for a month. As navigation in Greece was prohibited until mid-May due to Corona regulations, many crews were here in the harbor with us. The community is excellent, everyone helps everyone out, and we met great people. We didn't just work; we embraced the Greek rhythm of life and enjoyed precious time with our sailor friends. Time flew!

πŸ’¦

There are still two significant projects to be done (power supply system and autopilot), but we will hoist the sails tomorrow and take the boat out for a shake off-sail as we are waiting for spare parts.

πŸͺ„Up up and away,

Philipp & Kristel
